These are NOT available in concrete for the exterior, these are NOT designed to support marble mantles or bookshelves!

The beautiful piece was originally made of plaster of paris and had many coats of paint on it which were removed to make the molds. The piece purportedly came from the interior of a church in Manhattan. Around 1978 a pastor brought it to my table at a flea market asking to have a mold made of it and casts in concrete made, but he never returned and had left no way to contact him- not even a name.

The piece weighs 10-12 pounds, measures aproximately 9" tall, 8-1/4" wide and has a projection of about 7"

The sculpture is a wall hanging piece and comes with a bar hook in the back. It really is a charming and very ornate piece with it's flowers and leaves. It had no markings of any kind on the original so the age and origination are unknown. As this is a romantic/victorian style I would date the design to circa 1900-1910- before the Art Deco style came into fashion, it may in fact be older since it was caked in layers of different paint.

NOTE: before ordering, this corbel is NOT designed to be the sole supports for heavy book shelves, slabs of marble or furniture! You would need WOOD supports for that application. These corbels would physically hold the weight but since they are designed to HANG ON the wall with a hook, nail, screw or anchor like a picture frame does, these would never be stable or level and would have to depend on the single screw or nail you put into the wall. If you already have supports, the corbel can be mounted under a shelf etc to LOOK like it supports, it can be used as a small shelf to hold a potted plant, picture frame, vase or knick-knacks however.
