Cast moulded from a stunning original architectural sculpture modelled byRandall,
Randall's Lost New York City Collection Round wolf head medallion Model Nr. WH-R
Interior cast-stone with optional 4 sections of classic egg & dart border shown on my studio wall.
Original clay model used for the molds shown below with one section of border. ![]() ![]()
Background on the sculpture's creation; A round architectural terra cotta sculpture purportedly came from a demolished Philly brewery with the name "wolf head brewery," it was for sale on a salvage site for $3500 for quite a while but I have not been able to confirm the origination, or link to any brewery by that name, so either the name of the brewery is wrong or it came from a different building, either way it was a rare and unique sculpture;
Ok, as a dog lover the wolf head was still stuck in my head, so I decided to create my own model of him but I decided the original wolf head was not so well done after all, the extremely slanted eyes and mouth, and a few other issues about it bothered my artistic eye and didn't look "correct." A little searching, ok a LOT of searching... through a hundred wolf photos for a snarling wolf to use for visual reference, I found maybe one photo that was close to what I visualized and wanted in my model. Another photo of a remarkably attractive wolf with kind, expressive, and gentle eyes served as the visual reference for the models' eyes; ![]() He is shown in the photos with one classical egg & dart border since one border model was all that was necessary as this was molded and 4 borders are cast from the molds to complete a set.
The model is 4" deep to allow for embedding concrete casts into a brick wall.
For embedding in the wall outside you must order the concrete version. Concrete is always base price plus 20% for the extra time/labor concrete involves. Measurements; Wolf medallion: nominal 20" diameter, with the complete set of border he becomes aprox 29" in diameter. Shipping weight; on the interior cast-stone medallion is 40# In concrete the assembly could also be made into a fountain by drilling and inserting a pipe in the mouth and embed into a garden wall for a truly unique and dramatic work of art you will not find elsewhere. The sculpture is not sold in stores and is available only from the sculptor directly.

SHIPPING I use FedEx ground service for all shipments in the lower 48 states. I no longer ship outside the USA, too much paperwork, restrictions, forms and special trips to the Post Office. Postal rates outside the USA typically cost more than the item. Shipping charges, are for the wolf head roundel alone without the borders. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE ON SHIPPING In reviewing the costs for having cardboard boxes made for this that are large enough to ship safely- around 28" square 10" deep- I find the flat bundle of boxes is too large to ship to me UPS and would have to come by truck. As the custom made boxes would run around $8 each plus shipping, I decided on larger panels such as this I will build 1/2" thick plywood CRATES to ship which will be far safer and only cost a few dollars more. The shipping charge is broken down to;
Build plywood crate, materials; 1/2 sheet plywood- $20
