Just finished today the 26th;

I found another artifact from my dad’s old restaurant in Greenwich Village, a postcard that was mailed in 1969 and in pristine condition.
The unique part of the restaurant was it’s huge carcoal pit in the dining room, and the chef would cook your steak right there, so it was in reality an indoor bar-b-cue. It also had a bar up front and a coat-check lady who took your coats and hats- very high class, most patrons came there after a Broadway play or opera, ballet at Lincoln Center, recital at Carnegie-Hall etc. It was THE place to have a fine dinner out and you had to call and make reservations for your party’s table.
